Chicago Documenters is conducting interviews with community members who were alive during the 1968 Democratic National Convention (DNC). Your assignment is to find an interviewee, coordinate and record an interview, complete an interview form, and condense your findings into a short Q&A style article.

Guidelines: We anticipate the interview will take about 1.5 hours. You will record the audio and submit it along with the question form. We will generate a transcript of the interview which you can use to write your article. To complete the assignment, you must turn in an interview form and a Q&A article of at least 600 words.

The entire assignment should take no longer than 5 hours to complete. You will be paid a flat rate of $150 for this assignment.

You may conduct only one interview. Chicago Documenters is looking to create a retrospective that reflects the stories of regular Chicagoans who experienced that 1968 DNC. We believe that looking back is a critical and necessary step to understanding the upcoming DNC in Chicago.

All Documenters who plan to complete an interview and article must attend this training. (If you cannot attend, please email me directly at natalie@citybureau.org). All interview forms and articles must be completed and submitted via the assignment page by end of day(11:59 p.m.) August 2nd.
