Civilian oversight of the Philadelphia Police Department.
The mission of the Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) is to serve the community by helping to improve the relationship between the police and the community.
CPOC:
- Analyzes the policies, practices, and customs of the Philadelphia Police Department
- Reviews police department policies and procedures
- Holds public meetings to discuss issues around police matters
- Provides recommendations on how to improve the police department with the mayor, city managing director, and police commissioner
