Member Johnson explained specific issues with her District 4 including water issues, rain water, clay soil,and composting,
Pres Sheffield has note to get better understanding of her situations when they vote on those contracts.
Bus passes, helps out with bus issues, it’s hot, homeless man speaking about unfairness of treatment on buses just because homeless.
Asking support to overturn permit denial due to company not being big enough.
Members Calloway and Sheffield worked on the permits and will follow up.

They go to small vendors to advise what’s needed to get contracts

Procurement advised not lowest but lowest responsible bidder.

June 24th 2024 fireworks (or rescheduled dates)-curfew enforcement ordinance.

They are working on streamlining the process.
Grand Prix, Draft, Michigan Central caused additional backlog.
They are getting over 30 petitions per month.
Member Santiago wanted to assure all members are following these rules equitably.

Member Benson advised great way to reduce carbon footprint.

Benson advised due to our climate causing issues with electric vehicles at this time.
DDOT representative Geo Joy advised no real time study but calculation will be provided to him later today-
Shes detailed experience of person trying to work w/process but service was just giving the resident list of websites no additional help like case managers…over $13 million

Detroit City Council
The Detroit City Council is the legislative body of Detroit, Michigan, United States. The Council is responsible for the creation of local laws—called ordinances. Additionally they pass resolutions, motions, and the proposed city budget. The full-time council is required to meet every business day for at least 10 months of the year, with at least eight of these meetings occurring at a location besides city hall. The council may convene for special meetings at the call of the mayor or at least four members of council. Areas of responsibility for the Budget, Finance and Audit Committee include, Budget, Finance and the Auditor General.
City Council members are elected on the same cycle as the Mayor and will be elected in 2021. Seven members represent the seven council districts, while two members are elected at-large.
